The day started with constant rain, dark clouds and little wind. Nobody was looking forward to the prospect of heading out to compete but the wind was set to increase throughout the day so we were looking forward to some exciting racing.
Race 1 started at 12 noon in about 15 knots. There was a lot of close racing with many position changes, especially in the top half of the fleet. In the end Emma and Rachel Grayson narrowly took victory whilst Matt and Ben Lulham-Robinson took second and Sarah Richards finished third. The top three boats finished within 5 boat lengths of each other which shows how close the racing was.
Super September - The Month for Mirrors
As many classes prepare for the end of the sailing season hardy Mirror sailors look forward to a very exciting September. This is the month when our boats are really put to the test as the winds pick up and the waves smack against hulls. Traditionally we experience some wonderful weather during the month and this leads to outstanding sailing and racing. September is a vital month as competitions and selections come to a head. We hope that as many as possible will take part and that we will see as many boats as possible on the water, with smiling faces and happy crews enjoying the many opportunities for sailing.

The race saw a good tussle between Eddie Grayson and Matt Foster, and Matt and Ben Lulham-Robinson,
