Mirror sailors wanting to move onto an RYA Pathway Youth Class are invited to a "try a boat" day on Bank Holiday Monday, May 1st at Grafham Water SC Perry, Cambridgeshire PE28 0BU. Classes that will be available to try are:

  • 420
  • 29er
  • Nacra 15
  • Spitfire.

Each of the classes will be providing experienced helms/crews to help sail the boats if required.  There won’t be any Lasers, as people can usually arrange a trial sail in one of these boats at their home club etc.

No charge for visiting sailors. Sailing sessions to start at 1030 and finish by 1630. Sailing sessions are expected to last about 30 minutes or more, with some of the changeovers on the water by RIB, to save time.

What do I do when I arrive at the Club?   Go to the ground floor cafe and sign-up for a session with one or more of the class representatives, on a 'first come first served' basis.
Do I need my own trapeze harness?  If you have one, bring it with you, but the classes will also have some spare harnesses available.
What else is going on at the Club?  It’s an Open Day as well, so there will be other activities, and the cafe will be open all day.
Can we stay on site on Sunday night?  Camper van (£15) and tent (£10) bookings can be made with the Club office in advance - 01480 810 478, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

This event is organised by Grafham Water Sailing Club and the youth classes, with support from the RYA.   The main objective is to get juniors into and enjoying youth classes.
