The summer weather in Sweden can be unpredictable, but the coastal area around Hamburgsund generally enjoys better weather than other parts of the country. With fresh winds from a westerly direction the waves will be big. The temperature may vary from 18° to 26°C and water temperatures from 18° to 20°C.

In the area there are two good camp sites and a youth hostel. There are also accommodation possibilities in small apartments, in small huts, and in family rooms with access to kitchen. Apartments and huts can be rented per week only. The nearest hotel is about 10 km away. It is recommended to reserve accommodation as soon as possible as the championships will be held in the high of the season. A simple lodging may be arranged in the local schoolhouse.
