11 boats made the journey to Elton Sailing Club near Bury in Lancashire, and were greeted by a fresh south westerly breeze. The racing got underway in 15 knots, with big gusts sweeping down the lake, providing some exciting sailing.
Will Hide and Emma Clayton won the first race, closely followed by Chloe Macaulay and Isobel Leroux in second and Scott and Adam Bromley in third.
We came in for a good lunch of pasta, and launched again for two back to back races in the strengthening , shifty breeze.
In the second race, Emma Grayson had a substantial lead only to capsize in a huge gust on the last beat, allowing Will Hide and Emma Clayton to sneak past whilst Emma managed second, Sarah Richards third.
In the last race, the wind was even stronger, only three boats finished! Dad and Ellie Hide managed to sneak past Rachel Grayson crewed by Sarah Richards who had capsized just short of the line, and Sarah Clayton and Eleanor Rice Birchall were third.
