Review of 2011 by Brian Bowdler;

The Looe mirror fleet continues to thrive with up to 14 boats lining up for the Thursday and Saturday starts. The addition of 3 more event class boats and several of the leading helms participating in the SW winter training has led to close fleet racing as proved by 7 different boats winning points races and the title looking like it will come down to the wire.

The introductory level sail training continues to be popular and well supported. It is hoped next year will continue to see the fleet progress with several of the current crews trying their hand at the helm, leaving berths for new young racers to fill. With a race training program and a mirror traveller also being planned, the 2012 season already looks to be a busy one.

The race was won by new joiner Rebecca Stephens who, with crew Lisa Prichard, provides the club’s first National Squad representation since Lisa’s brother Josh.
