Squad Application Time was created by angus
It is now time to submit your applications for the Youth Squad if this is what you are thinking of doing.

A number of you have already done this so thank you - but....

Boatpark talk says that there are a number of you worried that if you apply for more than one squad it will spoil your chances with your first choice.

Remember the RYA run the other two squads and I am running the Youth Squad for the MCA. We don't compare applications so they won't know what you have applied for unless you tell them.

It would be very helpful for me to know who is interested rather than having to cope with a last minute rush that the boatpark gossip says is going to happen.

Sidmouth is the last of the NJS selectors on the 15th September and the first Youth Squad is on the 20th October. You will find that this time will go very quickly.

Here is the direct link to the Youth Squad pages :

To re-iterate Angus's words, there is no harm in applying for multiple squads, it certainly won't be to the detriment of your application.

There are quite a few sailors who overlap the criteria of the various squads and we would encourage them to apply for both Zone and National Squad, OR National and Youth Squad, depending on age etc

Do you have to have been in a squad before to apply? ALthough I suppose most people would have been.

The answer is no you do not need to have been in a squad previously.

You will need to be a good sailor to get into the Youth Squad and there is an application process which will consider this.
