I am thinking of putting access traps into the bouyancy tanks of a mirror I am repairing.I had thought to put them into the aft end of the side tanks and the forward vertical face of the stern tank. Also, can anyone tell me if I can colour or add stain to epoxy primer as the wood is stained in some places.

Tim, I have no experience regarding staining the epoxy primer, however I'm curious regarding your decision to locate your side access traps at the aft end. If they were located in the middle wouldn't it give you a greater range of access into the tank? Or have I missed something glaringly obvious and made a total donkey of myself in front of the whole of Mirror World...!!!!

My thinking was that if there is water inside then it is easier to get it all to one end or the other to remove it. However I suppose that being curved would likewise bring all the water to the middle, so your comment is very valid. with regard to colour I have found (on SP Systems website that a water based stain on the wood and dried out before epoxy is ok.
