Where and how would you suggest that I fix toe straps on my wooden Mirror?
It has survived 35 years without and the oars have made a satisfactory substitute so far. I'm thinking that my son may find them a bit of a stretch for the next few years.
It would help save a little weight, but I'm not sure that is what is slowing me down.

Mine are attached at the front under the kicking strap fixing loop. At the back they are attached by some rope to a loop screwed into the keel/skeg. The straps are held up by some bungee cord under the thwart.

Hullo D Smithers,
I am interested in your remark about oars. I have been thinking of carrying some and wonder where you have them stowed as "toe straps"

Hi Tim,
The oars are underneath the thwart with the blades in the cubbys under the fore-deck.
One oar each side of the centreboard case. A strap around the oars ahead and behind the centerboard case. The handle of the oar is roughly where the floor stiffener is.
Tuck your toes under the handles and lean out.

Thanks Dan it sounds very sensible. I was thinking of the side tanks where they would always be in the way.
