Am I ready for the Championships?

Are you and your boat ready for the Championships this summer. Please make sure you have all the correct paper work as it makes it so much easier for our volunteers on measurement day.  To race in the Europeans and Nationals this summer you need to have:

1. A valid insurance certificate - please make sure it has not gone out of date. For racing you are required to have insurance with a Third Party Liability Insurance with a minimum Cover of £3 million.

2. Measurement certificate - for UK boats this is issued by the RYA, it is one piece of paper with the RYA logo at the top and the tile 'International Mirror Measurement Certificate'.  It looks like this.

To be valid it must be in the owner's name. If you have not converted your measurement forms into a certificate after having the boat measured, or it is not in the current owners name, please go to.

3. Buoyancy Test - the buoyancy needs to have been checked by a Measurer or Club Officer in the 12 months prior to the last day of the championships. The test is described in class rule 4.2 and the Measurement Certificate should be endorsed with the date and details of the test.

3. Sails must be measured - all sails need to be certified that they comply with the class rules before arriving at the championships.  If your sails have been certified they will have either

a) an ISAF In-House Certification sticker in the corner by the sailmaker's logo (P&B, North Sails, Dick Batt Sails,.... are permitted to use these)

or

b) a date and the measurers' signature in the corner by the sailmaker's logo. If they have been measured in the UK since April 2012 they should have a numbered RYA Sail Measurement sticker, with date and signature written across it.

If you need to get a sail measured a list of measurers can be found here.

4. Membership of the UK Mirror Class Association - both the helm and crew are required to be full members.  If you have not already joined please do so by using the link at the end of this Newsletter.

5. Enter – Don't forget to enter by the 4th August for the discounted entry.
