Although the class is in a healthy state south of Hadrians Wall, this is not the case to the north. The Scotland zone coordinators aim to attract the attention of Mirror dinghy sailors in Scottish clubs, and encourage them to take part in a revival of the class in Scotland.
In 2011 the Scottish Championships are in Lerwick (Shetland Islands) which is a long journey even for most sailors in Scotland, but well worthwhile. However, there will also be a UK Nationwide event at Annandale, 9-10 April 2011. In addition we are seeking to establish a traveller series based on 1-day events at various clubs (so far Newburgh and Helensburgh have expressed an interest), and we may apply for RYA Scotland funding for a training event if there is sufficient interest.
