OPEN COACHING AT POOLE 7/8 MAY was created by john mcnulty
Matt Burge will be coaching this 2 day session just 3 weeks before the Nationals so it is the best way to get ready for them on the local water. Also the Youth Squad will be present so it should be a great Mirror weekend.

All zone squad and club sailors are invited but you must get your entries in by 24 May at the latest. If you enter before 30 April it will cost you only 30.00 instead of 40.00. Go to the website homepage and click on OPEN COACHING for all info.

Why is the Open Coaching at Poole on 7 & 8 May, when all the Zone Squad members are encouraged to go to the Eric Twiname on the same weekend?

Unfortunatly this was the only date we could get in the lead up to the Nationals, there are of course many more Mirror sailors than those in squads,

As Simon says - there are many more Mirror sailors than those in the squads; all the club sailors for example who just do club racing or open meetings but want to learn some go-fast techniques and how to get around the course better.

Squad sailors of any squad are welcome at Open Coaching sessions but just occasionally they clash. There are plenty more OC sessions to attend and I hope there'll be a good turnout from SW sailors for the Restronguet Open Coaching/Traveller weekend immediately after Poole.

Also Spinnaker and Maidenhead are holding OC/Traveller weekends on 14/15 and 21/22 May with Peter Aitken and Tom Rosoman as coaches respectively. The organisation is in place (in some class areas; all it needs is a willingness to participate and a desire to learn.

Good luck at the Eric Twiname for those attending and hope to see you at OC events when you can.

John

Squad sailors should, of course, head for the ET Finals that weekend and not be tempted to skip them.

Those going to Poole may be interested that the National Mirror Association Youth Squad will also be there that weekend, and hopefully we will be combining some of the on-the-water sessions.

Rob.
