I agree with TRELLO ,
I have built several boats , 22 &23 cold moulded hulls mahogany
stich and glue method , made grp moulds , and boats , sailing and
motor dinghies.
Now I moved to the sun , I think the Mirror best investment for the
young after opti ,
How could I get permission to build in Morocco , plywood , or grp
Mirrors at reasonnable cost?
Brunzeel doing some very good ply in Holland , I have had a Mirror
but despite great care of previous owner's some place were soft,
I'll be glad to have an answer , buying in europe is a rip-off!!

Thankyou for your support. There is about to be a special interest group set up to discuss these matters with the support of the MCA. I am preparing a discussion document that will be posted with a number of idea's. It will be interesting to see what this stimulates from amateur to professional builders alike. At the end of the day it's down to the membership being willing to adopt change where it is for the long term benifit of the class.

Currently the only way you can legally build cheaply is to buy a kit.

It is possible for builders to apply to ISAF to become a licenced Mirror builder for wood and GRP boats.

I have forwarded your details to Patrick Blaney, President of the International Mirror Class Association (IMCA). We are keen to encourage new Mirror countries, and IMCA are working on different initiatives to establish new fleets. As you say the Mirror makes a great training boat.

If you are able to get to the UK for the end of July, I am sure we could find you a Mirror to sail in the European Championships.
