Very Well - in fact.
If you are in your 60s you are still a youngster.
If you are in your 70s we want to know why you were not at the Europeans sailing against Jeremy.
If you are in your 80s you will find competition in the Midlands and Yorkshire.
I am waiting to address the 90s.
The technique seems to be a very loose out haul and a soft hand on your main sheet, a lot of tactical skills and chosen moments of deafness when challenged for water at a mark. The main benefits are having a boat that is difficult to make go fast and reasonably easy to get onto a trolley. Grandsons and Granddaughters seem to make excellent crews and handy for pulling the boat up the slips. My observations include new knee joints that seem to be an excellent way to improve sailing performance when a single hander.
Most of all you are not alone!
Try in particular Ripon Sailing Club, Annadale Sailing Club, Poole Yacht Club and Shustoke Sailing Club.
good luck and regards, Angus Carlisle
