Please find attached a copy of my rule proposals for 2007.

This feels like a lamb going to slaughter.

This proposal has been seconded and will be put to the AGM. More than happy to take comments, anyone wishing to associate themselves with these proposals please let me know. It might seem like a lot of change but it's only the things we've (the open circuit racers) been discussing and someone has to play devils advocate!.

Rule 6.2.1 (iv) Vang, Simplified wording but with limitations on purchase at 8:1. The reason being that by opening up the purchase available, people can choose the purchase to suit their rig or have more power so that children can operate it easily. This is not a costly option will not outclass older boats and over time everyone can implement this should they wish.

Included is a statement that specifically allows sail controls to be lead aft to the helm if desired and clears up an area of confusion.

6.2.1 The type and material of running rigging and associated fittings are optional subject to the following limitations:

Remove (iv)

The kicking strap shall have a purchase not greater than 4:1.

OR

The kicking strap shall be a gnav strut arrangement with a control line purchase of not more than 4:1. The angle of the lower edge of the strut to the upper edge of the boom shall not be greater than 45°, measured with the boom at 90° to the aft edge of the mast spar.

Insert (iv)

Replied by Roger Clark on topic Kicker Proposal for AGM
If the Mirror class is to progress, then I can see no objection to this proposal.
