As well as the Nationwide races where S/H are able to compete - next is at Poole - S/H should watch out for;

North East traveller - next one on 7 June at Beaver. The NE traveller is traditionally a good series of races for the club racer wanting to have a go at racing other good mirror sailors.

Shustoke Open Meeting later in the year. With a fleet of their own single handers this event will prove to be particularly useful to the developing S/H. The Shustoke fleet are awiting the delivery of their Winder boats - with Spinnakers. At the event we will be having a coaching class for S/H wanting to review the best and most effective way to sail with all three sails up yet only two pairs of hands in the boat. The specialty beers brought in by the club happen to be pretty good at this venue as well!

Hi Dave,
quite a nice little club not far off the M62 near Thorne (past Ferrybridge) their web site has some good directions it is www.beaversc.co.uk in fact when you know where it is you can almost see it from the motorway ! I think it is an over flow for the canal as you often see barges pass along the top of the largest of the two ponds (the only ponds we know with a tide!)<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
We might see you there

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I was going to go, but have today swapped my race equip Mirror for a Solo (getting too old). I still own Mirror 69057 that I intend to use for holidays to France (on the roof), but it's in bits and very basic rig, so may still go if I can get it all together for the weekend.
Cheers
David

Still worth trying to get there Dave, not all Mirrors are fully race rigged.

The people at the club enjoy racing their Mirrors mainly single handed, they go for the enjoyment not necesserily to win. It is what Mirror sailing should be about.
