You can use your existing sails with a Bermudan mast although the cut is slighty different. We at Z Spar are making a cruising and racing mast. The cruising mast is not tapered and we use the existing 50mm tube but without a taper, this retails less than 200.00. Our tapered mast is again the 50mm tube but tapered to the min size. We have a couple of boats going to the Worlds with the racing rig. I would wait until after the Worlds to see which mast performs the best.
