USA MCA was created by Simon Lovesey
Luke Dolman is looking to re-establish the USA Mirror Class Association, there is clearly some Mirrors over there and now an enthusiasm to get things going.

Please use this forum to make contact or let Luke know of any Mirrors in the US.

The aim is to send a small team to the 2009 Worlds

Hi Simon - many thanks indeed for getting this set up so quickly and for your enthusiasm to get this going again!

In fact the bare-bones website became a reality yesterday afternoon. www.usmirrorsailing.com is up and running but has no content yet. I'll be looking to add the basics over the next few days.

I'm still trying to contact the existing US MCA members as I'm sensitive to treading on any toes. Until I have some sort of agreement from them then the website will not mention US MCA.

This is really exciting and a great challenge. Dinghy sailing in the USA is something of a minority sport but, if we can make an impact, I honestly think the potential is there for the Mirror Dinghy to do for US sailing now what it did for UK sailing in the 60s and 70s. I'll keep you updated of progress via this forum and our own website.

Best regards
Luke

If you are looking for members, you might like to contact these people in California - it looks like they will be on the water soon

Thanks Graham! In fact I've already had a lengthy email conversation with Mark and will be press-ganging him at the first possible moment.

His website is well worth checking out if only for the humour. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> In fact you might notice some distinct similarities between his website and the one I'm putting together as he was kind enough to point me in the direction of Microsoft Office Live. Thanks Mark!

Cheers
Luke

I think there are a few US mirror sailors on this message board-

groups.msn.com/mirrordiscussionforum

Might be worth a gander

Hi Levante - many thanks again for your help. The more pointers the better!

I've just joined the Mirror Discussion Forum and see a couple of familiar names already. However, I'm still holding off on the US MCA thing until I make contact and get some sort of agreement with the existing US MCA group. I found a couple of phone numbers yesterday so I'll try those if email doesn't work.

Cheers
Luke
