Hi Folks - if anyone gets Classic Boat magazine, there's a little write up on us in "Tell Tales" on page 8. Had a great chat with Chris Museler the writer and he's looking to expand the story out into a full length piece about the fledgling USMCA for Wooden Boat. All good stuff!

Cheers

Hello Luke,

I saw the article in Classic Boat and have been meaning to start a post about it. In a way the Mirror is almost a classic boat as the design and some early examples are now over 45 years old. Not quite in the realm of one fishing smack at the London Boat Show which is celebrating its launching 200 years ago.

By the way have you managed to fix all the fittings to your Mirror and go for a sail yet?

Hi Roger

My own '69 boat is tucked up for the winter after several great sails last year. Richard is the chap building the boats at the moment; unfortunately poor weather and various other distractions put paid to his ambitions of launching before the winter. It doesn't sound like he's too far away from it though.

Cheers
Luke

Just seen the article, excellent and well done Luke, keep up the good work.<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

As the article mentions work is being done on the Mirror kit to make it more attractive for the home builder. At the Dinghy Show we have the master himself Alistair Duffin building a Mirror on the stand, great chance to see what is involved and get all the top tips.

The Mirror will also be built on the new MCA Jig that Alistair has made for the Association, this greatly helps in getting a fast shape. The jig will be available to home builders, will be posting pictures shortly

Thank you very much Simon!

Looking forward to seeing pictures from the Dinghy show and of the jig.
