The Oxford Team Race Academy (OTRA ) was set up last Autumn with the primary aim to keep 16 – 21 year old dinghy sailors in the sport, & to give sailors the opportunity to learn skills which would benefit them on their move into university sailing.

Five weekends of team race training are to be run at Oxford Sailing Club this winter in Fireflies

If you would like to be coached in the art of team racing then this is the squad for you.

The Academy is open to individual sailors from the age of 15 to 21 years as of the 1st September 2014, who are experienced fleet racers; no previous team racing experience is expected.  Both helms and crews can apply with boat crews and then teams being formed from the squad.

The aim of the Academy is to enable sailors to experience the joy of team racing and allow them to compete against the best team racers in the UK at the British Schools Dinghy Racing Association (BSDRA) Finals at the end of June 2015 with coach support.  It is also intended that an under 16 and under 18 team will participate in the National Schools Sailing Association (NSSA) two boat team racing regatta on the 21st March 2015.

The Academy is limited to 24 sailors.
