The practice race got away at the second attempt under a black flag. The light breeze dropped further making sailing against the slop difficult, finding pressure was key.
Dave & Imogen Wade built a big lead at the first mark with Dave & Ed Coady 2nd and Nigel Thomas & Benjamin Bradley 3rd. The race was shortened at the end the first round. Dave & Ed managed to catch and overtake Dave & Imogen shortly before the line to take the gun.
