RYA Sail Measurement Courses during winter 2017 - 2018

The RYA are running Sail Measurement Courses over the winter that might be of interest to existing Class Measurers in need of re-validation or prospective measurers.

The Course at Carsington Sailing Club happening on 2^nd December 2017 closes this week, so it would be great to confirm any other attendees as soon as possible.

 Could any existing sail measurers in need of re-validation or prospective sail measurers please come along if possible?

Passing the test will allow candidates to be approved by the RYA as an Official Sail Measurer. Attendance to the course is also a prerequisite for approval as a class measurer. The Course serves as both a re-validation course for current Sail Measurers and a qualifying course for new Sail Measurers.

Arrival from 9am, for a 9.30am start. The Course will be finished by 5pm at the latest. Pre-course work and information will be emailed out prior to the course for attendees. The Course itself will be a mixture of both theory and practical, with an examination at the end which will test both theory and practical skills. The Course serves as both a re-validation course for current Sail Measurers, and a qualifying course for new Sail Measurers. If the course is passed, the Sail Measurer will appear on our RYA Approved Sail Measurer list and credentials remains valid for 4 years, although re-validation is encouraged every 2 years.

The cost of attending the Course is £35.00.
