This weekend was the Eric Twiname Championships, where all of the zones competed. Throughout the weekend it was very warm and sunny.
The first day was a shifty and dying northerly wind and unfortunately the last race had to be abandoned as there wasn’t enough wind. The second day was an increasing south-westerly wind (up to 20 knot gusts) and there were a few capsizes.
All the results were very close. 3rd girl and 4th overall were Chloe Macaulay and Isobel Leroux from South Staffs SC. The top three results were very close; they all had 8 points, but in the end due to countback Max Odell and Finley Boon from Hayling Island SC finished 3rd, Rachel Grayson and George Richards from Beaver SC finished 2nd girl and 2nd overall, then in 1st girl and 1st overall were Jo Kalderon and Sally Lorimer from Itchenor and Warsash SC. The winning squad was the South.
After the sailing on Saturday we all played a game of human football which was really fun but unfortunately none of the Mirror sailors made the final.
