Mirror dinghies racing with spinnakers hoisted on a gusty day

Caolan Crosdell & Alexander Farrell took the lead on day 2 with 3 emphatic wins. A similar, but stronger wind than yesterday, NW 3-5, gusty & shifty, but the earlier start meant the tide was still flooding on the 1st start.

In race one it was Mel & Sophie who lead at the first mark, but Caolan & Alexander got past them on the 2nd beat and went on to win.

In race 2 with the tide now ebbing there was a left shift with 30 seconds to go making it hard to cross the line on starboard. This time it was Caolan & Alexander who lead at the top mark. Mel & Sophie spectactularly capsized with a death roll on the run (for which they won a prize at the daily prizegiving) and finished 3rd, and then sailed home to warm up.

In race 3 once again it was Caolan & Alexander who were 1st to the top mark and held their lead to the finish. it got stronger on the last beat and there were some place changes in the chasing bunch, but the 2nd & 3rd boats held their places to the finish.
