Restronguet SC are trying out shorter races for their younger sailors who find it hard to concentrate over a long windward beat. The format was to start after all the other classes, a short beat, beam reach to the normal gybe mark and then a broad reach to the finish.
This short course keeps the gaps between boats smaller, making the racing more interesting. The 'Pirate' theme proved very popular with some children dressing up. Following the success of the trial we will be changing the Sailing Instructions for next year.
