Howard Tear dominates the day.
Dull, damp weather persisted all day for the meeting held at British Steel Corp. (Port Talbot) S.C. on Saturday 16th July. Some 28 boats, including visitors from as way as Southampton and Reading, turned out in light winds for the first race.
Thankfully the wind freshened later, which led to a more exciting afternoons racing. Howard Tear, crewed by Rachel Hoyland in his David Rowe built boat, dominated the meeting by obtaining three firsts, leading from start to finish in each race. The only real challenge to this was David John Edwards, from the home club, who again exhibited some fine sailing. His considerable skills were tested to the limit, when he obtained a poor start in the last race. He managed to sail through the fleet, finally overpowering Dave Williams on the last leg. Consistent sailing earned Stephen Davies and Joe Roderick overall third place.
The under-15 trophy was won by Thomas Richards and Gareth Price.
