This is how you join for 2023 and onwards. You are going to need a PayPal account since we are using PayPal as our payment gateway (the same as our old SailScore system). Sadly we have not been able to transfer the previous account and subscription data from SailScore, so everyone is going to have to start again.
It might be easier to print this article (see the 'gear wheel' icon to the top right of this article) so you have it to refer to while going through the steps:
- If you already have a website account, log in using the login box on the left of the site, the 'My Account' page should be displayed, now go to 4 below
- If you can't remember if you have an account, try asking for a username reminder, if the e-mail address is used on an account, a reminder will be sent. If the e-mail is not know, it will tell you. Or, if you are stuck, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
- If you don't have a website account, create an account using the link. The username should be of the form 'firstname.surname' and once created, you cannot change it. The data you enter here is your User Core Profile.
- If you are already on the 'My Account page, click the 'Purchase or Renew Membership Subscription' link. If not, go to the 'My Account' menu item in the main menu, and select it. The 'My Account' page should open, then select the sub-menu item 'Purchase or Renew Membership Subscription' or click the corresponding link on the 'My Account' page.
- Decide on the class of membership you wish to purchase and press the 'Sign Up' button.
- A form will open, partly populated by data from your User Core Profile. Please fill in the remaining fields. Fields specific to the MCA, such as 'Sail number' (Individual or Family membership), 'Family surname(s)' (if there are more than one) or 'Crew name' (Crew membership) are at the bottom of the form.
- Press the 'Process Subscription' button, you should be transferred to PayPal where you can login to your PayPal account and pay for your subscription
- Once you have paid, you should be transferred back to the Mirror Class Association site. At this point you should see the 'Subscription Complete' page.
- When you are on the 'My Account' and related pages, your current 'Membership Status' is displayed towards the top of the right hand column. When you are transferred back from PayPal to the 'Subscription Complete' page, the 'Membership Status' module does not dynamically update. If you wait a minute or two, then use the 'refresh page' button on your browser, the page will reappear with your 'Membership Status' updated.
- You can 'View or Edit Subscription User Profile' via the 'My Account' menu, or link on the 'My Account' page to change details (e.g. if your address changes).
