Members will be pleased to hear that all Measurement Rule changes agreed at our AGM last year have been successfiul in the International ballot, However, the Australians were not in favour of banning all fittings on the boom aft of the kicking strap block and the Canadians felt that our proposal to allow keel bands of non ferrous metal did not go far enough.

I feel sure that the Canadian objection is a result of their misunderstanding of what we want to achieve and I have written to their Secretary giving more details of our proposal. I hope we can get them to support us by the time the proposals have to go to the IYRU.

(Class Secretary)
