Offshore of Durban:

[Editor note: Racing on Day Three was was called off due to dangerous visibility in the cold, wet, and misty conditions.]

The Wizards of Aus, James and Harry Komweibel from Perth, have secured all three races in Day Four of the Marriott Mirror World Championships hosted by Point Yacht Club offshore of Durban. The father and son team sailing for Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club are currently on 7 points, only 5 points ahead of second placed David Meehan and his nephew Henry Olsen. After seven races, the Komweibels have an impressive scorecard registering five first places and a second.

In third place overall, recently crowned African Champs Thomas and Kai Funke are 12 points off the leaders. Howard Leoto and Hayden Miller, who were sitting in ninth at the conclusion of Day Two, have leapt to an exciting fourth place overall after scoring a fourth, fourth, and a sixth in the final race on Day Four.

Paul and Polly Changuion, finishing in fifth place, are working hard to stay in the game after securing a spectacular win in testing conditions. They reported that today was windy and quite challenging for everyone, but they sailed well and got a decent result. Race Officer Kevin Bingham managed to get three races underway in unsettled, shifty wind conditions.
