Aerovac specialises in the supply of vacuum bagging consumables, lean solutions and reusable vacuum bagging systems to the advanced composites industry. Our strength is our reputation for service and delivery, but our success is built on the quality of our customer service. Aerovac also designs and manufactures large scale composite tooling and provides engineering training and consultancy services to the composites industry including vacuum moulding techniques, both resin infusion and autoclave. For over 25 years Aerovac has specialized in the supply of composite process consumables for the marine market where our forward innovative thinking and ability to adapt to change have been key to our success as the UK ’s no. 1 infusion professionals. In the case of the mirror, Aerovac materials were used in the manufacture of the boat hull. The fibre mesh was laid as required in the mould and Aerovac vacuum bagging and infusion materials were used to create a vacuum within the fibre and draw the resin through them creating the boat hull in one go with no air voids as would likely to be present using a wet lay-up manufacture. Resin to fibre ratios are also much improved using this method as the content of each can be calculated before impregnation. Using this system, there is no limit to the size of manufacture that can be achieved and this technique is used to manufacture parts in excess of 50 metres in one go. Other industries in which Aerovac products are used include aerospace, formula1 and wind turbine manufacture. Aerovac's UK production is based at the company's distribution centre in West Yorkshire, with an additional French subsidiary, Aérovac Systèmes France , in Toulouse and Aerovac Systems Italy , in Milan . Alongside our sister company in the United States - Richmond Aerospace, Aerovac also has a chain of distributors worldwide to supply products wherever they are required. Founded in 1980, Aerovac is part of the UMECO group. UMECO is Europe 's leading provider of value added distribution services to the aerospace and defence industries. Further information regarding UMECO plc can be found at the Group's website: www.umeco.com. Further information on our products may be found at www.aerovac.com |
