Day 5 of the Navigators & General Mirror Europeans started with overcast skies, a moderate breeze from the south east and a forecast of imminent rain, possible thunder and strong winds.
Day 4 of the Navigators & General Mirror Europeans started in beautiful sunshine and a light 5 knot breeze. The tide for the first time while racing was coming into the harbour. This posed a few difficulties as it was pushing sailors quickly up the beat!
Day 3 of the Navigators & General Mirror Europeans started in 12 knots but it built steadily through the race. The race officer set off with an outer loop, we had an individual recall and five boats were over in the middle of the line.
After a fantastic evening on the beach playing games including space hopers, wheel barrow races, rounders, volleyball and many more. The sailors had great fun and made friends across the country.
Tuesday morning was grey and dull with almost no wind but the Mirror sailors were not put off. After a 1 hour postponement, racing started in a South Westerly force 2-3.
A Fleet of 44 Mirrors awoke to a warm sunny day with force 2 southwesterly. Race 1 got away 1st time with one individial recall. A pin end start and going left paid for Sarah & George Richards in "Tinytanic" who lead at the 1st mark followed by Milly & Nick Pugh in "Wild Cat".
