The Mirror Dinghy Championship of N. Ireland was held at Strangford Lough Y.C. on 12/13 July. Weather conditions were overcast, but in general acceptable — although in part of one race self-bailers found themselves dealing with rain water rather than the briny.
To celebrate the increased number of Mirrors turning out regularly at Sheppey Y.C. (38) the Club has decided to hold an Open Meeting on 14th October — details from Hazel Foster, 15 High View Road, Minister, Sheppey, Kent.
Ely S.C. (47) are also celebrating a Fleet which has doubled in size — their Open Meeting will be on Sunday, 14th October.
If you like a difficult question ask yourself ‘what is the ideal dinghy for cruising.” The Dinghy Cruising Association from whom you might detect an answer, have such a variety of boats that even to cruise in company is impractical owing to the wide speed variation.
