80 days to go to Mirror Nationals 2012 at Itchenor Sailing Club.

The day dawned at Itchenor Sailing Club, a little overcast and grey, 72 children 10 teenagers, along with Parents with RIBs assembled determined to make friends and have fun.

The rain stayed away from Southampton Water for the Diamond Jubilee Mirror Open Meeting to give the Mirrors two cracking days of sailing at Warsash for the latest round of the Southern Travellers series.

6 Mirrors enjoyed some close racing in the Carrick Roads near Mylor on 27th May. In a light southerly, sunshine and an ebbing tide Martin and Harvey led the way on the first race until the final run when Rebecca and Lauren closed up and then overtook to win by inches with Esme and Scarlett 3rd.
The weather experts say that summer will arrive by the Diamond Jubilee Weekend - so no better way to celebrate the jubilee than by coming along to Warsash for a weekend of Mirror sailing off the entrance of the River Hamble - the very heart of UK sailing. Southern Travellers event - prizes for the 'gaff rig' fleet, any boats that cost under £500 and for parents and child boats. Mirror supper on the Saturday evening and a BBQ after racing on the Sunday. Registration from 0900, briefing on Saturday at 1030, first race 1230. Beginners are very welcome - coaching advice will be provided for those learning their trade. Contact: the Warsash SC Office at:
