Milly and Nick Pugh had an outstanding set of results to win the Southern Traveller 3 event at ISC - they discarded a first!
Despite wet, windy and cold weather, 26 boats competed over the two days in some exciting, place changing racing. The rescue boats were kept busy with swimmers and gear failure. Aswell as the top boats, it was great to see the next generation of mirror sailors participate in their first Open.
Boats from Itchenor, Poole, Hill Head, Warsash, Northampton and Chipstead were very glad of the hot food and warming fire in the Club house after racing!

25 mirrors came together for a very enjoyable yet wet weekend at Poole Yacht Club. It was the 2nd Crewsaver Nationwide Series for the Mirror Class and Poole were delighted to welcome many visiting sailors.

Which Jack Holt design was built in the greatest numbers and has taught many thousands of sailors the basics of sailing, racing, rowing and outboard motoring? Answer - the Mirror! It was therefore fitting that the largest single class represented at the Jack Holt Centennial Regatta was the red-sailed Mirror.
Open Training is for anybody!!! This is different from squad training, it aims to deliver meaningful training to all abilities and ages. Open training is usually put on by one Club on one day, and for a small fee, instructors and coaches will spend a day working wiith you to improve your sailing skills. The only requirement is that you are a member of the Mirror Class Association to access this training. (The MCA will of course be subsidising the training.)
The MCA is looking for Clubs wanting to put on Open Training and individuals who want to benefit from it. Contact Dave Woodhead, MCA training manager. ![]()
