Vita Heathcote and Chris Grube will compete for Team GB in the mixed dinghy (470) class at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the British Olympic Association have announced.
This year the Mirror Class Association had stand L10 at the dinghy show and, thanks to TridentUK & Ginger Boats, were able to exhibit the new TridentUK epoxy/foam sandwich Mirror. As ever the stand was reasonably busy with many old friends of the class, and some new faces, stopping by for a chat. Thanks to Steve Bland from Poole YC & Chris Balding from Island Barn SC for helping with the stand on Saturday & Sunday respectively.
After a long gap, and thanks to the McGovern family, the Mirror Welsh Championships are back!
Date: 14/15th September 2024
Venue: Red Wharf Bay Sailing Club, Treath Bychan, Anglesey (www.redwharfbaysc.co.uk)
A fantastic family venue in a lovely bay on the Isle of Anglesey (Ynys Mon). The sailing club overlooks the beach/ bay and launching is straightforward in most wind directions. The area is popular for holidays, providing lots of accommodation options and a campsite within easy walking distance of the club (Nant Bychan Farm).
Chew Valley saw the famous red sails return to the lake hosting a two-day Mirror Inlands championship. An entry of 21 boats competed with competitors travelling from 8 different clubs across England & Wales. As storm Babet battered the North of England Chew remained relatively peaceful as the high calibre field, a wash with elite sailors produced close and enjoyable sailing over the two days.
As you may be able to see, the template, which largely controls what the site looks like (i.e. the style), has changed. What's less obvious is that the core Content Managmement System (CMS) software has been updated to the current supported version. The content (articles, documents, videos, links, etc.) remains unchanged.
