HOLLINGWORTH 22/23 SEPT was created by john mcnulty
AN UPDATE FROM YOUR COACH those entered for coaching should have received this by e-mail from Luke

My name is Luke Shaw and I will be your coach this weekend.
The format for the two days looks roughly like this:

Saturday 22 Sept
Mirror NW Travellers Open Meeting organised by Hollingworth Lake SC
Start: Rigged and changed by 10:00 (First Race – 11:00)
Finish: Approx 17:00

From a coaching perspective we will aim to have:
A briefing before racing
A debriefing after the racing
discussions during the day where possible)

Sunday 23 Sept
Training lead by me
Sessions to be determined based on Saturday’s racing, your input (see below) and club activities also taking place
Start: Rigged and changed by 10:00
Finish: Approx 17:00

Preparation
As well as making sure your boat is ready for the weekend’s activities and you bring plenty of warm sailing kit, could you please:

1 bring a weather forecast with you for the weekend
2 try to get hold of a copy of the Sailing Instructions before we meet at 10:00 and have a read. You should get these from the Race Committee when you enter on Saturday morning
3 make sure you bring drinks and snacks to take on the water with you. I understand the two afternoon races on Saturday will be sailed back to back. At the very least you should have a water bottle
4 bring your tool box with spares (if you have one)
5 make a list of the three areas of your sailing that you would most like to work on

Look forward to meeting you all.
Luke

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE COACH FOR THIS ZS SELECTION WEEKEND IS LUKE SHAW. Be rigged by 10.00 both days and expect to finish about 17.00. Luke will tell you what he'll be doing either by e-mail beforehand or on the day. Remember to bring notebook and pen/pencil and have any questions you want answered prepared. It may be cold so be well prepared with wet or dry suits etc.

Hope you all have a good weekend and can form an active squad.

John
